"There are many cultural differences between us, but I think we'll find a lot of similarities too"

Sandy Thomas

Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities: Article 31. Every child has the right to an education: Article 28. It is our intent for the RE curriculum at Alexander Infant School to engage, inspire, challenge and encourage pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to answer challenging questions through a curriculum that is accessible to all. At AIS, R.E. is taught in line with the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum. We follow the Bromley RE syllabus which encourages children to explore and express their own responses and personal beliefs. AIS provides opportunities for children to: • Develop knowledge and understanding of Christianity and of the other religions represented in Great Britain • Understand and make links between the beliefs, practices and value systems of different faiths • Develop an interest in and enthusiasm for the study of religion and enhance their own spiritual, moral, social and cultural development • Develop the ability to make reasoned, informed and creative responses to religious and moral issues.
