Welcome from the Headteacher
A warm welcome to Alexandra Infant School, where we are passionate about learning and celebrating individual achievements.
We are a two-form entry infant school with an Additionally Resourced Provision for children with autism. There is access to wrap around care before and after school. All children at Alexandra Infant School automatically gain a place at Alexandra Junior School and we work very closely with the Junior School to ensure a smooth transition into KS2 for our Year 2 children.
At Alexandra Infant School, we pride ourselves on developing the ‘whole child’, teaching life skills that will enable children to thrive, not only in our school, but throughout their education and into adult life.
Our nurturing school provides a safe learning environment where all children can thrive and reach their full potential. The well-being of children and staff is our highest priority, and we work closely with our families and the community to achieve this. We have strong home-school links and parents and carers play a key role in enabling every child to succeed.
Our motto ‘Achieve, Inspire, Succeed’ encompasses the aspirations that we have for all of our children. We provide inspirational and inclusive learning experiences and celebrate every child’s individual achievement. Personal and academic success is supported by and shared with the Alexandra Infant community including children, families, staff and Local Committee Members.
Having gained the Inclusion Quality Mark in recognition of our excellent practice, we are dedicated to providing high quality education which will enable all children to enjoy learning and to achieve their personal best. Our curriculum provides specialist teachers and there is a range of extra-curricular activities that further enrich our broad and balanced curriculum. Children are challenged throughout their learning and encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, build resilience, and become independent learners. There is also the opportunity for children to learn the violin, piano or cello if they choose to.
The Local Committee Members in our school have a wide range of skills and experience in order to support the school and drive school improvement. They are committed to ensuring the very best outcomes for all of our children.
