"Where words fail, music speaks"

Hans Christian Andersen

Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities. Article 31 Every child has the right to an education. Article 28 Music is essentially a practical subject which should be enjoyed by all. Our intent is to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. From an early age children have an awareness of rhythm, pitch and sounds around them and these should be developed on entry to school. Music is taught both inside and outside the classroom and is fully inclusive of children of differing abilities.
